My First E learning Experience

Last Wednesday i went to my digital marketing lecture as usual but the lecture wasn’t their. But i heard the sound of a lecture.I looked all around to catch the lecture and finally i saw the lecturer who was in the big white screen.This is not an usual lecture and it has advantages and disadvantages.I will start my thoughts by tell u the advantages.We can gain the latest knowledge by the professionals in the field.Mr.suranga is very capable for teaching about search engine optimization(SEO). Also when listening to the lecture  i understood MR.suranga is an expert in E learning as a lecture.Its not a boring lecture and we can gain lot of things in that small session.also the q and a session is really good and it is more effective than asking verbal questions.i noticed, this was the 1st lecture that asked this much questions by students. I need to mention, these kind of lecture cannot value. Most of the lectures are done for money.We are lucky to have a lecture like Mr.suranga to teach us free.I want to tell some disadvantages of E learning. The lecturer and slides are seeing in small and some slides are not visible.Sometimes the voice was gets stucked because of the slow bandwidth. It will disturbs the lecture. I felt some areas he taught is too fast. I Think 6 -8 is not the time to do a valuable lecture like this. we were not in a good situation because of the excessive workload in the office.I think the morning hours are good to have a E learning lecture. E-learning is a good way for a subject like digital marketing but some subjects like sports,music can’t use. Also some students asking stupid questions by Facebook to waste the time.I think its better to has it to our computer rather than putting it on the white screen.

When considering above factors i think this lecture is good but it has to be developed in the future to overcome the disadvantages.

• Adequate text to background contrast is very much available. Background is with black and grey and we can see the music videos on the background and the images are changing in every 3 seconds.
• Font size and spacing is easy to read. We can’t see bigger fonts but it’s very simple and easy to understand.
• Flash and add-ons are used sparingly as we see a busy website here. It has so many advertisements and there are some direct links to go for other sites and chats.
• Images have appropriate ALT tags.
• Site hasn’t custom not found 404 page

Identity

• Company logo is not prominently placed. It is surrounded by other advertisements and the color of the logo is not prominent because they have use blue and grey. 
• Let the vibes of sri Lankan music take you to a higher level of consciousness’….is their tag line and it’s too long.
• Home page is digestible in 3 seconds as I said before. By one look at it and with the eye catching flashy images and the videos available on top, we can digest what the content is all about.
• When enter to the contacts we can find the company information and the company contacts.

Navigation

• Main navigation is easily identifiable

• Navigation labels are clear and concise as they are all in simple block capitals. They use small simple letters to mention the name of the artist.

• Company logo is linked to the homepage as when we click on the logo it’ll automatically take us to the homepage.

• Links are consistent and easy to identify as they appear in similar manner and in good font
• Site search is easy to access as the search button is available at the top ribbon in the right corner.

Content

• Major headings are clear and descriptive as said before the important tabs like Music videos, Audios, dj and Mixes, Tamil, Artist, Blogger and Contacts.
• Styles and colors are consistent as I mentioned before.
• Emphasis (bold.. etc) is used sparingly as everything is not in bold. The important titles are in bold, but the descriptions are in normal text.
• URLs are meaningful and user friendly and describes the content as it is

When considering the above facts I can prefer this site is having a good usability and also the have to fix some areas to improve.The brand name has to be prominent and we can see so many advertisement which distract the consumers……
